Tesla reveals SpaceX-powered Roadster that flies and falls with style

Tesla revealed its redesigned second-generation Roadster, a vehicle with SpaceX thrusters, at an event outside Waco, Texas. CEO Elon Musk showed off the car's capabilities, including flying and landing with style, and even joked about trying to jump the Snake River Canyon, where Evel Knievel famously attempted to cross in a steam-powered rocket.

The car uses 10 thrusters connected to 600 liters of compressed air to lift and spin the car in midair. Tesla is taking reservations for the car, with prices starting at $50,000 for the 'Performance' trim, which seats two and has active aerodynamics.

Tesla plans to build the Roadster in 2028, with three trims available: 'Performance', 'Thrust', and 'Rocket'. The car will have 300 miles of range and be capable of speeds exceeding 230 miles per hour, making it a true halo car for the company.
